A juvenile male was struck and killed by a train in Thermopolis on Sunday morning, according to a news release from that city's police department.

"The juvenile was walking adjacent the railroad tracks while listening to music via ear-buds and apparently did not hear the train approaching from the rear," according to the news release.

He apparently walked into the path of the train and was struck near the intersection of the tracks and Broadway street.

The family has been notified and the incident remains under investigation.

The news release did not identify the boy.
