The Albany County School District has announced new start times for the 2016-2017 school year. The new start times are as follows:

  • Elementary schools- 8:05 a.m.
  • Laramie Junior High School-8:00 a.m.
  • Laramie High School-7:50 a.m.
  • Rural Schools-8:00 a.m.

The new start times are meant to increase efficiency with the transportation of students to and from schools. This adjustment also means less time on the bus for students and cuts down the variability that sometimes caused special needs students to be on the bus for 90 minutes a day. The adjustment also makes it easier to implement school closures due to inclement weather.

Laramie daycare operators were consulted about the start times and the school district is prepared to offer before and after school programs for students and parents that are affected by the new start times.

For more information, please visit the school district website. Parents can also find out more by calling the principal of their child's school.
