There's another opportunity for you to comment on the proposed snowmobile restrictions in Yellowstone National Park. The current proposal would limit snowmobiles to no more than 330 per day during the winter.

The new public comment period has already begun so the new winter policy can hopefully be in place before the winter season according to Yellowstone spokesman Al Nash. The first public comment period began in may and continues through July 18. The new period opened July 5 and is for commenting on the implementation of the plan. The public can comment through Sept. 6.

Comments can be made in person at the Management Assistant's Office, Headquarters Building in Mammoth Hot Springs, Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming. You can also mail a comment to Yellowstone National Park, Winter Use Proposed Rule, P.O. Box 168, Yellowstone NP, WY 82190. Comments can also be submitted at regulations.gov.

According to the AP, as many as 720 snowmobiles have been allowed in Yellowstone each day in prior years. Read the proposed rule by clicking here.
