CODY, Wyo. (AP) — A new group is starting a gunfight re-enactment show in northwestern Wyoming after it was able to obtain affordable insurance coverage.

The City of Cody required insurance coverage and set other conditions for the mock gunfights after a performer with The Cody Gunfighters fired a gun loaded with bullets rather than blanks last July, injuring three spectators.

The new group is called The Wild Bunch. Kenny Martin, who started the Gunfighters in 1979, will remain as the new group's safety officer.

Martin says performers will use prop guns that only fire blanks and the actors will not include any of the previous gunfighters. He says The Wild Bunch was able to get cheaper insurance than The Cody Gunfighters could have.

The shows are scheduled to run Mondays through Saturdays starting June 19.
