A man from North Las Vegas, Nev., died in a motorcycle crash in western Wyoming on Friday, according to a news release from the Wyoming Highway Patrol.

Billyjohn Pritchett, 39, was riding a motorcycle westbound on Interstate 80 when he lost control 10 miles east of Lyman.

Prichett was thrown from the motorcycle and died at the scene.

He was wearing a non-U.S. Department of Transportation-approved skateboard helmet

The Highway Patrol is investigating excessive speed as the contributing factor in this crash.

Prichett marked the 90th highway fatality in Wyoming for 2015. There were 94 fatalities as of Aug. 10, 2014.
