Mobile Mammogram Clinic To Tour Rural Wyoming
LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) — A mobile mammogram clinic will begin traveling rural Wyoming in March offering screenings to women 40 and older.
General Electric’s “Mammovan” will travel the state for a year.
The Laramie Boomerang reported Thursday (http://bit.ly/AsV9f8 ) that the van’s itinerary will be posted at http://www.healthymagination.com in February or March.
GE spokesman Paul Marcum says the cost of the mammogram will depend on each woman’s medical insurance coverage. He says GE is working on a program to help uninsured women get the screening.
Marcum says Wyoming ranks low among states for breast cancer screenings for women 40 and over.
GE plans to have a Facebook application that will allow women to schedule screenings online.
