Drew Lock threw for 398 yards and four touchdowns as the Missouri Tigers handled the Wyoming Cowboys 40-13 Saturday night in Columbia, MO.

Missouri (2-0) rolled up 601 yards of total offense and averaged 6.6 yards per play. Lock completed 33-of-45 passes and connected with eight different receivers. He also ran for a touchdown.

Wyoming head coach Craig Bohl felt the Tigers showed why they’re so potent offensively and used their defensive line to disrupt what UW was looking to do.

“We got physically beat and it has been a few years since that has happened. Our guys went in there and battled. Missouri is a very good football team that was the number one offense in the SEC last season. That group proved to be explosive. I thought we got off track offensively in the first half and Missouri has a very imposing defensive front. We truly got Missouri’s best shot. We got to get ourselves ready to go for next week.”

The Tigers led 23-0 before the Cowboys got on the board with Cooper Rothe’s career-long 51-yard field goal. After another Missouri touchdown, UW answered with a quick four play, 70-yard drive capped off by Jevon Bigelow’s 7-yard touchdown run. That made it 30-10.

Missouri tacked on another TD and a field goal before Rothe connected from 36-yards away for the final margin of 40-13.

The Tigers stumbled early with two missed field goals, a punt, and a fumble in their four of their first five drives. After that, Missouri scored on six straight drives, which included a touchdown on five in a row.

Lock ran it in from 12-yards out with 5:32 left in the second quarter for a 10-0 lead. Lock hit Albert Okwuegbunam on a 19-yard TD pass just before halftime, which made it 16-0. Lock then found Emanuel Hall for a 28-yard touchdown pass. His third TD pass was a 12-yarder to Kendal Blanton. The final Lock touchdown pass was a 14-yarder to Johnathon Johnson early in the fourth quarter.

Wyoming (1-2) finished with 248 yards of total offense. Tyler Vander Waal went 13-28 for 160 yards. He was sacked twice. Bigelow finished with 56 yards on 18 carries. Josh Harshman had three catches for 17 yards before he left the game due to an injury. Andrew Wingard led the defense with 12 tackles, 11 of them solo stops. The Pokes had three tackles for loss and three pass break-ups, but no sacks for a second straight game.

The Cowboys return home for their next two games. First up is a first-ever meeting against the Wofford Terriers. Kick-off from War Memorial Stadium next Saturday is at 2 p.m.
