The warmer summer weather has finally started to arrive across Wyoming after a long and brutal winter, but back country enthusiasts  are still trying to take advantage of snow in higher elevations. This weekend, Grand Teton National Park experienced yet another skiing accident in which a man fell approximately 2,000 feet.

On Saturday, Jessee Stover, of Jackson and two friends were attempting to summit Teewinot Mountain then ski down its East face. The three men were approximately  500 feet from the top when Stover slipped, consequently tumbling over 2,000 feet down the slope.

A wilderness emergency medical technician witnessed the fall, called 911 and helped Stover and the two other men. Adding hindrance to the situation was a small wet avalanche that came down the gully where Stover was stranded.

Rescuers were able to move Stover out of harms way and a rescue was made. Jessee Stover is currently in the hospital and recovering from serious injuries. On Saturday, The Bridger-Teton National Forest avalanche report was rated as moderate to considerable.
