A Laramie man charged with sexual assault and kidnapping was found guilty of the sexual assault charge today during his jury trial in Albany County District Court.

The jury found Travis Bogard, 25, guilty of one count of first degree sexual assault. The jury ruled he was not guilty of the kidnapping and confinement charge.

Bogard was arrested after a Laramie Police officer responded to a report of a sexual assault at the Ranger Bar on Oct. 29 at about 2:30 a.m. The victim told the officer that Bogard had held her against her will in the women’s bathroom and sexually assaulted her, court documents state.

Bogard will be sentenced following a presentence investigation. County and Prosecuting Attorney Peggy Trent asked Albany County Court Judge Tori Kricken that Bogard’s bond be revoked and he be taken into custody. Vaughn Neubauer, attorney for Bogard, said Bogard had sat through two trials, after the first ended in a mistrial and he had not missed any court appearances. Judge Kricken agreed and said there was no reason to revoke Bogard’s bond.

Bogard will be sentenced following a pre-sentence investigation.
