Local Astronomers Hosting Viewing Event [UPDATED]
The Laramie Astronomical Society and Space Observers (LASSO) are holding a free planetary viewing event tonight.
UPDATE: After the rain and too many clouds Tuesday night cancelled their event, they are hoping it will happen tonight. It will be at the same time and same location.
If you've been paying attention to the western skies lately, you might have seen the two brightest planets in our solar system, Venus and Jupiter, drawing closer and closer together. Tonight and tomorrow night, the planets will be less than one-half degree apart.
LASSO is setting up a viewing party tonight from 8:30 p.m. until 11 p.m. just north of the soccer fields off Armory Road near the softball and youth baseball complexes.
The Laramie Astronomical Society and Space Observers are a local organization of amateur astronomers.
