Laramie County Community College officials are making their case to state lawmakers for $22 million in state money for two new buildings on the college's Cheyenne campus.

LCCC spokeswoman Lisa Murphy says college President Joe Schaffer recently held a breakfast meeting with local lawmakers to stress the importance of the state money to help build a Flex-Tech building and a Student Center. She says the legislators were "very receptive" to the application for state funding, especially in light of the fact that local voters approved a $25 million bond issue in November for the projects.

Murphy says Senate President Tony Ross (R-Cheyenne) was also supportive in a seperate meeting with Schaffer. Murphy says Laramie County is one of the few counties that has voted in support of local funding for such a project recently. The legislature convenes it's 2014 Budget Session next month.
