The Laramie Weekend Movie Forecast is written by Robert Roten, creator of the Laramie Movie Scope Website.

The weekend movie weather is cooling off.

Summer is over.  School is back in session.  No more weekday early-afternoon shows at local theaters.

Two new films open in Laramie tonight, the musical concert documentary film One Direction: This is Us, and the biographical drama about the late Steve Jobs, Jobs.

One Direction: This is Us is produced by Simon Cowell.  Both this and Jobs, which opened in much of the rest of the country two weeks ago, are rated as average films by critics.

Two of the five big summer action hits this year return to Laramie tonight.  The Superman reboot, Man of Steel, opens tonight at the Wyo Theater, while Fast and the Furious Six plays tonight-only at the UW student union.  Both of these films rate above average.

One of last year's best films, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, will be shown Sunday night only, at 7 pm at the Albany County Library.  Winner of 13 international awards and starring Emma Watson and Logan Lerman, it rates an "A."  Admission and snacks are free.
