Laramie's Salvation Army Thrift Store will close its doors for good this weekend.

Three employees will lose their jobs when the store closes after a final sale to clear inventory on Saturday.

Intermountain Region Public Relations Director Tahreem Pasha-Glenn says it was a difficult decision to make, but one aimed at providing better service to the community.

"We love the community of Laramie," says Pasha-Glenn. "The store was just not profitable for us; it was actually taking resources away from our services."

The current location at 100 S. Second St. will continue to function as an office and, without the thrift store, will hopefully be in a position to help more Laramie residents.

"It really just boils down to being a business decision," says Pasha-Glenn. "But I think it'll free up a lot of our resources to, again, give it back to the community."
