It's their 9th annual home showcase event. The Laramie Rangers are one of seven teams in this year's Dooley Oil Classic.

The wood bat tournament features three teams from Wyoming and three more from Colorado in action Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Manager Brandon Ruckman said it's a good one,

"Especially with it being wood bats; it's a lot harder to get base hits. Defense becomes obviously more apparent in these tournaments. It's a fun one for the kids."

Laramie (9-13) welcomes, Rawlins, Rock Springs and Torrington from in-state. From down south are Blue Chip, Fort Morgan and Rawhide.

Ruckman adds, "I feel like it's a good mix of teams... I know some of those teams have some good pitching."

Each team plays three games in a round robin format before match play on the last day. There are four games Friday, five on Saturday and four more Sunday.
