A Laramie man charged with having sex with an underage girl entered a guilty plea in Albany County District Court on Tuesday.

Felipe David Lehtinen, 20, pleaded guilty to one count of second degree sexual abuse of a minor.  In addition to being required to register as a sex offender for life, he faces a sentence of up to 20 years in prison and a $10,000 fine.

The prosecution recommended boot camp in exchange for the guilty plea.

Court documents say that guardians of the victim told Laramie Police on Oct. 27 about Facebook messages that indicated she and Lehtinen were involved in a sexual relationship.

In an interview with police, the underage girl told police that she and Lehtinen had sexual intercourse on 4-5 occasions over the course of their relationship.

According to the affidavit, Lehtinen at first denied having sex with the victim during his police interview, but eventually admitted to doing so about two weeks before the interview.  He also stated that he knew the victim was 15 years old at the time.
