UPDATE: The more serious burglary charges against Taylor Harpham were dropped in District Court, and he pleaded guilty to 4 misdemeanors in Circuit Court.

Judge Robert Castor sentenced him to 6 months in jail and 6 months of supervised probation.

In the course of investigating a burglary over the weekend, Laramie Police arrested 20-year-old University of Wyoming student Taylor Harpham.

At about 1:15 a.m. Sunday, Laramie Police responded to a report of a gunshot heard in the 1200 block of East Shields Street near Laramie High School.

According to a press release from the Laramie Police Department, officers were told at the scene that a handgun was missing from a vehicle. Police say witnesses described the suspect, and officers located a man who fit the description allegedly inside another vehicle. He was later identified as Harpham.

Police officers recovered property that was allegedly taken out of vehicles in the area, including the missing handgun.
