Changes to the 2016 Laramie Jubilee Days parade on Saturday, July 9 involve the start time and the route.

The parade will start at 9:30 a.m. at the corner of 4th Street and Canby Street.

The earlier time is to accommodate a special entry in 2016. The Troopers Drum and Bugle Corps, based in Casper, will appear near the front of the parade. The Troopers were one of the 13 founding members of Drum Corps International and have been in existence since 1957.

We visited with Jubilee Days parade co-chair Nicole Nelson who said the addition of the Troopers was a lot of work.

“Our parade chair, Chantel Pearson, was hands-on with them for the last couple of months organizing and coordinating their time with our time. I think they’re going to make a great addition to this year’s parade.

The switch in the route involves eliminating extra turns at Garfield Street on 3th and 4th, as well as Grand Avenue. Instead, the parade will go south on 3rd Street to Grand Avenue and then turn left and go east on Grand. This eliminates two extra turns in the route. Here’s an overview of the parade route.

The 2016 Laramie Jubilee Days parade is sponsored by Aspen Family Chiropractic. The theme is “Unsung Heroes.”

Approximately 80 entries are part of the parade line-up, as of 8:30 Friday morning. Nelson said there’s numerous civic organizations, equestrian groups, a handful of political candidates, plus class reunions and more.
