Both Laramie High School Track and Field squads finished the regular season by winning the 2015 Wiseman Invitational team titles last Friday in Torrington.

Laramie's girls topped the eight team field with 120 points. Runner-up Cheyenne Central finished 10 points back, while Gering (NE), Cheyenne East and Cheyenne South rounded out the top five in the team rankings.

The Lady Plainsmen piled up 21 top eight finishes to compile their team points. They won four events. Senior Taylor Arsaga was victorious in both the 100 and 300 hurdles. Senior Phoenix Farnham won the 200 meters, and senior Ella DeWolf led a 1-4 finish with a victory in the 3200 meters. DeWolf was also runner-up in the 1600 meter run.

Laramie's boys beat Cheyenne East by just over six points. The Plainsmen ended with 146.16 team points, while the Thunderbirds had 140. Central, Torrington and Gering (NE) went in that order for three through five out of eight squads in attendance.

LHS won three events on the boys' side, but also produced 27 top eight results for their team points total.

The Plainsmen were led by junior Chris Henry. He led a 1-4 finish by Laramie in the 3200 meter run and was part of the victorious 4X800 meter relay. Sophomore McCade Johnson added a win in the 110 hurdles and a runner-up finish in the 300 hurdles.

Laramie High School's track and field teams are now preparing for the 4A East Regional meet in Sheridan Friday and Saturday. Competition will start at 9 a.m.
