Both Laramie High School basketball teams dropped to 0-4 in conference action after being swept in a girls'-boys' doubleheader at home last night by Cheyenne East.

The Laramie Lady Plainsmen (7-10, 0-4) shot just 14 percent from the field for the game and lost to the 4th-ranked East Lady T-Birds, 55-18.

Laramie failed to score in double figures in any quarter, and the game even hit the running clock mercy rule in the fourth, when the East lead hit 40 points.

The Lady Plainsmen were led by Savannah Cox with only 5 points. LHS was 7-50 on field goals, 0-15 from 3-point range and were out-rebounded 46-32.

The Laramie Plainsmen (3-14, 0-4) remained win-less in the 4A East Conference, as well, thanks to a 70-57 loss to #4 Cheyenne East.

LHS trailed by one at half, 35-34, before the T-Birds opened up an eight point lead, at 50-42, as the game headed into the fourth quarter. A 9-2 run by the Plainsmen pulled them within 52-51 and a chance to tie on a free throw. Drew Burman missed it, and East responded with a 13-2 spurt for a 65-53 advantage.

One major difference was Laramie's shooting. The Plainsmen shot 56 percent (15-27) in the first half, but dropped to 26 percent (9-35) in the second half. They finished 24-62 (30%) from the floor for the game, while the T-Birds went 27-52 (52%) from the field. East also had a 36-29 edge in rebounding over LHS.

Laramie was led by Tye Brown and Burman with 18 points apiece. Jake Aadland chipped in 11 points.

Both teams are back in action Friday night, February 7, with another doubleheader, but this time it's on the road. Laramie closes out the first half of 4A East Conference play at Cheyenne Central.

The girls' game will start at 5:30 p.m. and is followed by the boys' game at 7 p.m. Both games are at the Central High School Fieldhouse in Cheyenne.
