One day after getting swept at home, both Laramie High School basketball teams picked up a victory in their final non-conference game at Green River last Saturday. The Laramie Lady Plainsmen topped the Lady Wolves 43-34, while the Plainsmen drubbed Green River 73-41.

The Laramie Lady Plainsmen (7-6) used a 13-0 run in the first half to take the lead for good. Once Green River closed within 22-21 early in the second half, LHS went on a 13-1 to regain control and closed out the Lady Wolves 43-34.

Savannah Cox led the way with 12 points off the bench, while Jacqui Pulley added 10 points. Laramie out-rebounded Green River 44-29, which included 20 offensive rebounds.

The Laramie Plainsmen (3-10) went on a 20-2 run in the first half that keyed a 73-41 blowout of the Wolves. The Plainsmen shot 57 percent (29-51) from the field and were never threatened. They led 43-21 at halftime and reached the 40-point running clock mercy rule midway through the fourth quarter.

Drew Burman's 15 points led four players in double figures. LHS also forced 26 Wolves' turnovers in the victory.

Both Laramie teams will open conference play in the 4A East this upcoming weekend. The Plainsmen go on the road, while the Lady Plainsmen will be at home. Both teams will face Sheridan Friday night and Gillette on Saturday afternoon.
