Going into their games on Saturday, the Plainsmen and Lady Plainsmen had a combined record of 3-1 at the Bill Strannigan East-West Challenge. Both teams ended on the positive side Saturday. The Lady Plainsmen rallied in the second half for a 57-47 victory over Casper Kelly Walsh, while the Plainsmen bounced back with a hard-fought 50-47 win over the Trojans.

The Lady Plainsmen (8-2) won their 6th straight game in a row with a second half comeback to beat Kelly Walsh 57-47. The Lady Trojans outscored Laramie in the second quarter 19-7 and took a 30-24 lead going into the half. Kelly Walsh looked like they were going to pick up their first win of the season, but Madison Legerski caught fire and scored a career-high 29 points and led the LHS girls to the win. Katie Kuhn followed with 14 points. The Lady Plainsmen will seek their 7th straight win at Rock Springs on Friday, January 11.

The Laramie Plainsmen (8-2), coming off their second loss of the season, trailed at the half 24-23. Behind Tyler Loose's 8 points in the fourth quarter, including a key 3-pointer in transition that gave Laramie the lead for good, they won a close one 50-47 over KW. There were 15 lead changes in the game, five in the fourth quarter, and nine ties. Tyler Loose led the Plainsmen with 22 points, followed by Sam Feldman with 12 points and Sam Hainline with 10 points. Laramie next plays at Rock Springs on Friday, January 11 following the girls game.
