Linda Gore Martin, Dean of the University of Wyoming’s School of Pharmacy, was recently awarded the Daniel S. Klein “Spirit of Volunteerism Award” by the Laramie Downtown Clinic.

“In a word, Linda is amazing,” wrote Downtown Clinic Director, Sarah Gorin.  “Linda has volunteered at the Downtown Clinic since day one, and continues to volunteer regularly, even with her hefty ‘day job’ as the dean of the UW School of Pharmacy.”

The award is given based on nomination from clients and volunteers at the Downtown Clinic.

“She is such a wonderful pharmacy resource and loves working with the providers on challenging pharmacy cases,” said a client who nominated Martin.  “She also enjoys teaching clients about their medications, and I can see Dan Klein’s spirit in Linda whenever she provides a client consultation.”

Dr. Dan Klein was a volunteer at the Downtown Clinic before passing away in 2004.  Each year, a volunteer who embodies the spirit of devotion and service which makes the Laramie Downtown Clinic a beacon of quality care in the Laramie community is given the award.

Last year, the Daniel S. Klein Award “Spirit of Volunteerism” Award was given to Ann Marie Hart, a UW School of Nursing professor.
