The summer collegiate baseball season continues during this 4th of July holiday weekend with the Laramie Colts playing at Cowboy Field.

They are hosting their Premier Bone and Joint tournament with round robin action between the Colts and the Denver Cougars and Colorado Pirates.

The Colts swept a doubleheader Saturday against the Boulder Collegians JV squad. In the opener, LJ Higgins got hit by a pitch with the bases loaded in the bottom of the seventh that produced the game-winning run. The final score was 11-10.

In game two, the Colts won the game with a pair of runs in the sixth inning, 3-2. They scored on a wild pitch and a passed ball. Chris Kemper got the win in relief and protected the lead with a 1-2-3 seventh.

Laramie (8-11) will play at 5:30 p.m. versus the Pirates and 8 p.m. against the Cougars on Sunday, July 2. The times are the same for Monday, July 3, but it’ll be the Cougars in game one and the Pirates in the later time slot. On Tuesday, July 4, the Colts will play the Pirates at 2:30 p.m. and the Cougars at 7:30 p.m.
