The Laramie 9-10 All-Stars will play for the 2014 State Championship, after they obliterated Gillette American 36-3 in four innings on Thursday.

Laramie built a 7-1 lead after the first inning. Then, they exploded for 16 runs in the second. After another 13 runs in the next two innings, the game was called due to mercy rule.

Manager Jerry Dodd said, “The kids played great. They continue to play great team baseball. They back up their pitchers and play well together.”

Jaedyn Brown led a 21-hit attack, as he went 5-6 at the plate. Garrett Dodd, who was the winning pitcher, went 4-6 with a triple. Camden Shipman added a 3-3 effort, which included a pair of doubles.

Laramie will play the winner of today’s loser out game between Cody and Gillette American.

Dodd added, “Both teams are very good, and we will have to bring our best game Saturday morning.”

The 9-10 State Championship game will be at 9 a.m. Saturday in Cody.
