A seven-run fourth inning propelled the Laramie 9-10 All-Stars past Gillette American 15-5 Tuesday night at the District Tournament in Gillette.

The victory means Laramie is one win away from qualifying for next week’s state tournament in Powell.

The game was tied 5-5 through the first two innings. After neither team scored in the third, Laramie took control and scored the game’s final 10 runs.

In the fourth, the 9-10 All-Stars got four big RBI hits from TR Richardson, Carson Moniz, Jack Fuchs and Colton Carline. A walk to Maddox Dorrell also forced in a run in the frame.

Dax Parvin’s 2-run double and an RBI-triple by Tyler Gale in the fifth created the 10-run mercy rule.

James Vasek got the win in relief. He gave up one unearned run on one hit. Vasek walked one and struck out 10.

Richardson led a 14-hit attack with three hits and an RBI. Vasek and Fuchs had two hits and two RBI’s apiece. Laramie also capitalized on seven walks and two errors by Gillette American.

The 9-10 All-Stars will face Gillette National Wednesday at 7 p.m. The winner advances to Friday’s championship game and qualifies for the state tournament.
