A 4A East Conference regular season title and an automatic bid to the state tournament were earned by the Laramie Lady Plainsmen Thursday.

Second-ranked Laramie closed out the regular season with a 4-0 victory at No. 5 Cheyenne East in the Capital City. Lexi Pulley led the way with two goals and an assist.

Lady Plainsmen head coach Kim Whisenant was pleased with her squad’s response after Wednesday’s loss at third-ranked Cheyenne Central.

“I was proud of how we played as a team and bounced back from yesterday (Wednesday).”

Sekoya Romero got Laramie on the board in the 9th minute off a feed from Pulley. Four minutes later it was Pulley, who scored her first of the day and was assisted by Courtney Hamilton for a 2-0 lead. Hamilton added an unassisted goal in the 33rd minute. It was 3-0 at half.

Pulley added the final goal, unassisted, in the 60th minute for the final margin.

It was the second shutout of East this season by the Lady Plainsmen and eighth overall.
