Just four days after announcing that sophomore running back Kody Sutton was leaving the University of Wyoming football team, Head Coach Dave Christensen announced he is glad to have Sutton back on the team.

“When you recruit young men to your program you never want to see any of them leave," said Christensen in a press release from UW. "It’s good to have Kody back with us, and it’s good to know that he will still have an opportunity to earn his degree from the University of Wyoming.”

Sutton had decided to leave Wyoming because of personal reasons. On his Twitter account, Sutton posted on Thursday, "I just hope everybody understands.. Family first."

Christensen said Sutton approached him over the weekend and asked to return to the team after he was able to work through the personal issues that had prompted him to leave the program. Christensen agreed and Sutton practiced with the Cowboys Monday morning. His short absence has left him with some ground to make up though.

"He is fourth on the depth chart, and will have to earn his way back up the depth chart," reported Christensen. Before his brief departure, Sutton was second on the depth chart, behind junior Brandon Miller and ahead of true freshmen D.J. May and Shaun Wick. As a true freshman in 2011, Sutton played in six games, with 30 rushing attempts for 146 yards.
