Police will reportedly look to interview Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant about allegations that he sprained a man’s wrist last Sunday after the man allegedly tried to take Bryant’s picture with his phone at a San Diego church.

The unidentified man was treated at a nearby hospital for his injury.

“Detectives have the case and are hoping to talk with Mr. Bryant,” San Diego Police Detective Gary Hassen said. If the charges stand up, Kobe could face a lawsuit and be liable for civil charges.

Few other details about the incident have surfaced, but there’s some skepticism about the man’s story. Involving the police in such a minor scuffle could have just been a “massive overreaction” on his part.
