It was a clean sweep by the University of Wyoming Monday, as junior forward Kayla Woodward was selected the Mountain West Women's Basketball Player of the Week.

Woodward wins the honor for the first time this season and fifth time in her career.

Woodward says of earning the accolade, "It's nice. It's a cool honor to be considered with a lot of those top girls in the conference. I do think with our wins; it does really help."

She averaged 23 points, nine rebounds and 2.5 steals per game in the Cowgirls' road win at San Diego State last Wednesday and San Jose State on Saturday.

Woodward shot 50 percent (17-34) from the field and was 5-5 at the free throw line.

She scored 17 points and grabbed eight rebounds in the win over the Aztecs. Then Woodward tied her career-high with 29 points, pulled down 10 rebounds and had four steals in the victory over the Spartans.

This is the second straight week a Cowgirl has earned Mountain West Women's Basketball Player of the Week honors. Sophomore Marquelle Dent was chosen last week.
