In an effort to curb impaired driving surrounding last week's annual Border War game between the University of Wyoming and Colorado State University, members of the Wyoming Highway Patrol, Colorado State Patrol as well as law enforcement agencies in Wyoming's Albany and Laramie counties and Colorado's Larimer County banded together to patrol I-80, I-25, and US Highway 287 for impaired drivers.

2018 marked the fourth year of the operation, which yielded 11 arrests in 2017. The 2018 operation yielded 4 DUI arrests, two of which took place in Wyoming. Overall, 192 traffic stops were made in Wyoming, resulting in 41 speeding citations, 8 seatbelt citations, 4 child restraint citations, and over 100 warnings. No fatalities occurred during the operation, which was the goal, according to WYDOT's Highway Safety Office Law Enforcement Liason.

"We're proud that goal has been achieved in all four years of this operation," Abrams said in a press release.
