The Laramie Plainsmen and Lady Plainsmen host their last two home games of the high school basketball season Friday night and Saturday afternoon.

Laramie will take on Sheridan this evening and Gillette tomorrow afternoon in 4A East Conference girls-boys doubleheaders. The game times are at 5:30 and 7 p.m. today and 12:30 and 2 p.m. tomorrow.

Laramie Plainsmen

The top-ranked Laramie Plainsmen (12-4, 5-1) face #3 Sheridan (11-6, 5-2) on senior night tonight. Then, they'll take on Gillette (8-10, 3-4) in their home finale tomorrow.

The nine seniors will be honored in a ceremony prior to tonight's game at 7 p.m. They are Andrew Barnes, Danny Bradfield, Tye Brown, Tristan Eickbush, Nate Hill, Joseph Legerski, Andy Pearson, Josh Wilson and Drew Worman.

Plainsmen head coach Chuck Kern says about this senior class,

"They're playing for each other. They're a tight knit group. All the upperclassmen, juniors and seniors, are really just buying in, and being that teammate that makes the extra effort; and that's what we needed."

Laramie lost at Sheridan on January 24, 43-37. They won at Gillette on January 23, 60-56. The Plainsmen were led by junior Jake Aadland, who scored 25 points in both games. LHS will have their leading scorer back in the line-up this weekend.

Kern adds they'll get everything they want from both the Broncs and Camels.

"Having that number one target's great for us because it prepares you for regionals, when you do get everybody's best effort. Well, when you're number one, you get that during the season. So, two good teams coming in here, that are going to just leave everything on the court."

Laramie Lady Plainsmen

The Laramie Lady Plainsmen (5-12, 0-6) are still searching for their first conference win. It won't be easy, as LHS faces #1 Sheridan (17-1, 7-0) tonight and #2 Gillette (15-3, 6-1) tomorrow.

Lady Plainsmen head coach Kyle Stucky says, "Two really quality opponents, who are playing really well right now. So, a good measuring stick to see what kind of progress we've made as a young club this year."

LHS lost at top-ranked Sheridan, 70-48, on January 24. They also lost and second-ranked Gillette, 61-27, on January 23.

Laramie will look to rely on tougher defense and a slower tempo to compete. They are averaging only 38.5 points per game. That is nearly 20 points less than Sheridan and 30 points less than Gillette average per game.
