It’s the final tune-ups for both Laramie High School basketball teams in Sweetwater County Friday and Saturday.

With conference play only one week away, Laramie will be looking to make its final adjustments against the Tigers in Rock Springs Friday night, and the Wolves in Green River Saturday afternoon.

Both teams went 2-1 at last weekend’s Taco John’s Invite, with victories over Kelly Walsh and Green River.

The Laramie Lady Plainsmen are 7-2 on the season and just jumped into the rankings for the first time. They are fifth in the latest Wyopreps.com Coach’s and Media Girls Basketball Poll.

The Lady Plainsmen will face the Tigers (2-6) for the first time this season Friday at 6 p.m. Then it’s the short journey to Green River to face a winless Lady Wolves (0-8) squad that Laramie just defeated by 14 at home last week. That game starts at 1:00 p.m.

The Laramie Plainsmen are coming off back-to-back wins for the first time this season. They have a 5-4 record. They are also receiving votes in the Wyopreps.com Coach’s and Media Boys Basketball Rankings.

Laramie will take on the #5 Tigers (5-3) Friday night at 7:30 p.m. Then, it’s a rematch against the Wolves (1-7) on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. The Plainsmen beat Green River at home last Saturday by 18 points.

KOWB (AM 1290) will broadcast Friday’s doubleheader live starting at 5:15 p.m. David Settle and VerDon Hoopes will provide the call of the game.

Saturday at Green River is a “streaming only” broadcast through our friends at www.network1sports.com. The stream will begin at approximately 12:15 p.m.
