University of Wyoming fall semester classes will begin Wednesday, Sept. 3.

Students will be able to move into UW residence halls starting at 7 a.m. Friday, Aug. 29. Freshmen students living in the residence halls and their parents are invited to the Washakie Center's Welcome to Wyoming dinner Friday from 4-6:30 p.m.

Also Friday, a pep rally and concert by country music star Craig Morgan is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Tailgate Park. Admission is free for the first 500 incoming first-year students. Adult tickets cost $25 in advance, $35 at the gate; student tickets cost $10 in advance, $15 on the day of the show; and children under 12 pay only $8. Tickets are available at the Wyoming Union Information desk and online at www.uwyo.edu/finearts.

The Cowboys open the football season against the University of Montana Grizzlies in War Memorial Stadium at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 30. President Dick McGinity will host a welcome barbecue for students Wednesday, Sept. 3, from 5-7 p.m. on Prexy’s Pasture.

Many activities are scheduled during “Cowboy Connect,” designed to help freshmen gain important knowledge about their transition to UW and have fun while interacting with their peers. A schedule of activities can be found atwww.uwyo.edu/summit/schedule/index.html.
