Hundreds of volunteers participated in Laramie Community Clean-Up Day on Saturday, April 25.

According to Brian Forster, Code Enforcement Inspector for the City of Laramie, over 300 volunteers helped to clean the community. The city of Laramie provided lunch to more than 140 of those volunteers.

In addition, 676 loads of trash were taken to the landfill for the day. The landfill fees were waived for Community Clean-Up Day.

Originally scheduled for Saturday, April 18, the event was postponed after a winter storm dumped up to 20 inches of snow on Laramie and the surrounding area.

Volunteers worked to rid the city of trash in several areas including on East Grand Avenue, Snowy Range Road, North Ninth Street, gateways into Laramie, the intersection of Curtis & Interstate 80, and more.

Albany County Clean-Up Day will take place in August.
