Football season is just around the corner and hopes are high for the Pokes.

Coach Craig Bohl's Wyoming Cowboys are coming off their best season in decades and quarterback Josh Allen is being hyped as a potential Heisman Trophy candidate.

The schedule will be difficult. UW opens the season September 2nd at Iowa. An upset over the Hawkeyes would set the stage for a showdown with Oregon September 16th at War Memorial Stadium.

Once again, Boise State and San Diego State are expected to lead the way in the Mountain West conference. The Cowboys will face a hostile crowd at Boise State on October 21st when they battle the Broncos on the blue turf. Luckily, the Aztects aren't on the schedule this year; at least, not in the regular season.

Colorado State also figures to be much improved. The Rams will be seeking to avenge last year's blowout when they come to Laramie for the Border War on November 4th.

In the pre-season media poll, Wyoming was picked to finish 3rd in the conference. Now, we want to know what you think. How good will the Pokes be this season?

Here's the schedule:

September 2nd @ Iowa
September 9th vs. Garner-Webb
September 16th vs. Oregon
September 23rd vs. Hawaii
September 30th vs. Texas State
October 7th BYE
