Homecoming Parade 2018

University of Wyoming students, alumni, and Laramie residents gathered for an unusually early Homecoming parade that kicked off at 8 a.m. With nearly 100 entries, the competition was pretty stiff for the awards given out. While Western Thunder and the UW Spirit sSquad were named overall winners of the parade, other entries such as the UW Office of Global Engagement and Aspen Family Chiropractic received recognition for Most Original and Best Off-Campus Walking, respectively. A complete list of winners can be found here.

The parade didn't just show UW pride, though. A group of Native American women donned ceremonial dresses and displayed dance moves to onlookers as they made their way along the parade route, and one float attempted to get parade viewers in the Christmas spirit, going so far as to play carols and bring Santa along for the ride.
