CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — The Wyoming Transportation Commission has approved six highway contracts around the state including one to stabilize a landslide 10 miles south of Jackson.

The contracts add up to $35 million.

The nearly $11 million stabilization project will involve pinning down a landslide along the two-lane highway just north of Hoback Junction. More than 200 shafts will be drilled to bedrock and filled with steel and concrete. More concrete and steel will cap off the shafts at the surface.

A project east of Gillette will widen and resurface 8 miles of Wyoming Highway 51.

Other projects will repair and improve portions of Interstate 80 near Walcott Junction, U.S. 85 north of Cheyenne, the Chief Joseph Highway northwest of Cody, and roads near Basin and Worland.
