High water and dangerous conditions have closed the Laramie River Greenbelt Trail from Curtis Street to West Park Street.

According to the City of Laramie's website, a berm has been constructed at West Park Street to protect homes on the west side of town threatened by flash flooding conditions.

The City is asking folks to stay off the berm because foot traffic will decrease the berm's capacity to hold water.

High water under the Snowy Range Road bridge makes the greenbelt impassable in that area. The City is asking trail users to refrain from attempting to cross under the bridge because of hazards posed by currents, debris or a potentially washed-out pathway could.

The Wyoming Territorial Prison park requires an annual fee for access, and greenbelt users may not trespass to get around high water areas.

Folks can expect the high-water conditions to remain until the end of spring runoff season.
