Albany County Habitat for Humanity will be hosting a dinner this Saturday in Laramie.

The Habitat for Humanity of Albany County Wyoming will be holding their "A Brush with Kindness" housing repair program with a Spaghetti Dinner this Saturday, May 4th from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Soup Kitchen in Laramie, Wyoming.

The Habitat for Humanity's Affiliate Manager Nicole Lopez says "this is the first time, we're doing the program in Albany County and we want to attract more families and low-income homeowners in need." Lopez adds that she "anticipates a great turnout as her team has been on foot around Laramie and other parts of the county to get the word out the dinner this Saturday."

According to Lopez, the new housing repair program entitled "A Brush with Kindness" targets at improving homes with services such as painting, landscaping, and making minor repairs for bad weather conditions as well. The main of goal of the program is to improve, serve, and/or assist low-income homeowners and families who struggle to preserve the exterior of their homes. The work is done by volunteers who also might donate materials when needed. The homeowners must partner up with the Habitat for Humanity to have their homes repaired.

Lopez says Habitat for Humanity which was founded in 1976 has built more than 300,000 houses worldwide and providing proper affordable shelter for more than 1.5 million people.

Tickets for the Spaghetti Dinner this Saturday are $5.00 for a single person and $12.00 for a family which can be purchased in advance by calling (307) 745-4130. Lopez says all proceeds will go back to the Habitat for Humanity of Albany County Wyoming. Lopez adds that people who attend the dinner will have the chance to see applications for the program, "A Brush of Kindness" and find out more on how to be part of it.
