CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - The National Weather Service is warning of possible ground blizzards Wednesday evening in southeast Wyoming.

Strong westerly winds in excess of 60 mph are expected to develop and continue through Thursday morning, especially between Cheyenne and Laramie.

The Weather Service says the winds and the new snowfall from this week's storm will cause much blowing snow and whiteout conditions.

Travel along Interstates 80 and 25 could be hazardous.

The Wyoming Department of Transportation reported Wednesday morning that many highways around the state remained slick with many areas of black ice and blowing snow.
