Wyoming Governor Matt Mead is calling for more jobs in the state, amidst the news that employment rates increased in every county in Wyoming during July. The state unemployment rate for July 2011 was 5.8 percent according to a release from Mead’s office.

As unemployment rates continue to fall in Wyoming, Mead says he will push for more jobs.

Obviously the mineral industry plays an important role, as do tourism and ag. I also think as other states continue to struggle with their budget situations the ripple effect that hopefully we’re going to see more and more is that people are more interested in doing business in Wyoming. We have the highest credit rating from S&P, which isn’t a big deal in terms of the state needing to borrow a lot of money, but it is a strong expression that we are financially strong and I think that is an attractive thing for businesses.

Wyoming was recently ranked the fourth-best place in the nation to do business in an annual poll.
