A celebration of modern classical music and living composers, New Frontiers, will be held Sunday, Sept. 18 - Thursday, Sept. 22 at the University of Wyoming. The Laramie Contemporary Music Project offers free concerts plus master classes and other events.

The opening concert, "New Frontiers: Peace and Clarinets" features the AdZel Duo and will be Sunday at 7:30 p.m. in the Fine Arts Concert Hall. The Grammy nominated Marian Adam and Stephanie Zelnick are both internationally known clarinetists.

Sunday, Sept. 18, 7:30 p.m., Fine Arts concert hall -- "Peace and Clarinets Concert" -- AdZel Duo, Musica Harmonia, and UW clarinetists.

Monday, Sept. 19, 7:30 p.m., Fine Arts concert hall -- "Shiny and New" -- Chamber music with the Continental Trombone Quartet, UW faculty and guests. (Pre-concert talk at 7 p.m. with composers Barabba, McGee and Pierce).

Tuesday, Sept. 20, 7:30 p.m., UW Art Museum -- "Small Artifacts" featuring the UW Brass Quintet, UW Faculty playing chamber music by great composers.

Wednesday, Sept. 21, 7:30 p.m., Fine Arts Concert Hall -- "Apprentice Concert" -- UW students write and perform new music.

Thursday, Sept. 22, 7:30 p.m., Fine Arts Concert Hall -- "Music for Hordes" -- Continental Trombone Quartet, Collegiate Chorale, UW Jazz Band, UW Symphony and UW Wind and Symphony performing new music for large ensembles. Special guests include John Fadial, violin soloist, and UW Theatre and Dance Department dancers choreographed by faculty member Lawrence Jackson.
