In the midst of spring practice, Wyoming Cowboys head football coach Craig Bohl has unveiled their first depth chart.

It features a newcomer atop the quarterback battle; two new starters in the linebacker corps and three freshman in the secondary. In addition, one of the five QB's is moving positions.

Red-shirt senior Cameron Coffman is listed as "the guy" at quarterback. Coffman transferred to Wyoming from Indiana last year. He is followed by the newest QB to the roster in junior college transfer Josh Allen. Allen has only been on campus since January.

Head coach Craig Bohl said in a release, "I thought we had a good start to this week, coming off a scrimmage. We're really pleased with our quarterback position. Our numbers weren't great in our first scrimmage, but Cam (Coffman) has some really good presence, and you'll see that in the Spring Game. Josh (Allen) has one of the liver arms that I have been around. He's got to continue to learn how to manage our offense, but he has come around fairly well."

The change has come with red-shirt freshman Austin Fort of Gillette, who is moving to tight end.

Bohl said, "A lot went into the decision to move Austin from quarterback to tight end... He's 6'4" and around 215 pounds, and I think he'll put on some more weight. The tight end position is really important for us, and we needed another exceptional athlete there. It's an opportunity for him to get on the field and help us."

Two players who have switched positions are listed as starters at linebacker. Junior Eric Nzeocha, who has been on offense the last few years, is the man at middle linebacker. Sophomore Tim Kamana, who was a safety last season, is now atop the chart at strong-side linebacker. Veteran Lucas Wacha has shifted back to weak-side linebacker.

The Cowboys secondary has red-shirt freshman listed at one cornerback spot and both safeties. They are Anthony Makransky, Chavez Pownell, Jr. and Adam Pilapil.

There are three players in the secondary, in Robert Priester, Xavier Lewis and D.J. May, who are not listed on the depth chart, that are either limited or out of spring practice. They are all planning on being in the rotation by fall camp.
