Fight Results in Death of Casper Man – Cheyenne Man Arrested
Update: North has now been charged with Vehicular Homicide, which carries penalties of up to 20 years in prison and a $10, 000 fine under Wyoming law. He faces a December 10 preliminary hearing.
Cheyenne police have arrested a 23 year-old man in connection with the death of a Casper man early Saturday morning.
Officers were called to a parking area near 3501 E. Lincolnway early Saturday morning regarding an altercation and possibly a man being struck by a vehicle. Cheyenne police Lt. Rob Dafoe says early reports indicated that several males had been fighting in the area. At approximately 2:06 AM, responding officers found a male subject lying unconscious with head trauma.
The man, identified as 31 year-old Christopher Kinkade, was transported to CRMC by ambulance where he was pronounced dead at approximately 8:30 AM. An autopsy was scheduled for Sunday in Loveland, Colorado. Cheyenne Police have arrested 23 year-old Gairet North of Cheyenne in connection with Kinkade’s death. North was booked into the Laramie County Jail on manslaughter charges. The case remains under investigation by Cheyenne Police Detectives.
