Federal judges recently sentenced eight people for drugs, firearms and illegal alien crimes, according to the Wyoming U.S. Attorney General's Office.


U.S. District Court Judge Alan Johnson sentenced Sarah Ward, 27, of Cheyenne for conspiracy to distribute 100 grams or more of heroin and for possession with intent to distribute heroin. She received three years, one month imprisonment, to be followed by three years of probation. This case was investigated by the Cheyenne Police Department.

Chief U.S. District Court Judge Nancy Freudenthal sentenced five people for drug offenses:

  • Kimberly Erin Smith, 34, of Green River received five years, 10 months imprisonment to be followed by four years of probation for conspiracy to distribute 50 grams or more of a mixture or substance containing a detectable amount of methamphetamine. This case was investigated by the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation.
  • Justin Dix, 35, of Cheyenne received 13 years, four months imprisonment to be followed by five years of probation for conspiracy to distribute 50 grams or more of a mixture or substance containing a detectable amount of methamphetamine and for possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime. This case was investigated by the Cheyenne Police Department and the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
  • Julia Flock, 54, of Torrington received three years, one month imprisonment, to be followed by three years of supervised release for conspiracy to distribute 50 grams or more of a mixture or substance containing a detectable amount of methamphetamine. This case was investigated by the Cheyenne Police Department and the BATF.
  • Nikki J. Juneman, 24, of Longview, Wash., received five years imprisonment, to be followed by four years of supervised release for possession with intent to distribute 50 grams or more of a mixture or substance containing a detectable amount of methamphetamine, and aiding and abetting. Juneman was arrested in Rawlins. This case was investigated by the DCI.
  • Ramon Erek Slater, 26, of Laramie received three years, five months imprisonment, to be followed by four years of probation for possession with intent to distribute 50 grams or more of a mixture or substance containing a detectable amount of methamphetamine. Slater was arrested in Cheyenne. This case was investigated by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Freudenthal also sentenced Brian William Price, 47, of Lovell for being a felon in possession of a firearm. He received two years, six months imprisonment to be followed by two years of probation. He was arrested in Torrington. This case was investigated by the BATF.

In an illegal alien case, Freudenthal sentenced Rafael Alberto Gonzalez-Medina, 24, of Mexico, for illegal re-entry of a previously deported alien into the United States. Gonzalez-Medina was arrested in Gillette. He received time served, plus 10 days, and is subject to deportation upon release from custody. This case was investigated by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, ICE.
