A fugitive who was wanted by the U.S. Marshals Service was arrested in Rock Springs on Thursday.

Sweetwater County Sheriff's Department Spokesman Jason Mower says 43-year-old Corby Albert was wanted for alleged parole violations. Albert was originally convicted in April 2006 in U.S. District Court on charges of conspiracy to deliver methamphetamine. He was sentenced to 262 months (a little over 21 years, 8 months) in prison.

After serving almost 10 years in federal prison in November of 2015, Albert was released on parole. He was back in federal prison between May and October of 2016 for a parole violation.

In September of 2017, Albert again allegedly violated his parole by testing positive for meth and alcohol, disappearing from his home in Ft. Bridger and failing to report to his probation agent and case manager. Federal Judge Alan Johnson of the First U.S. District Court in Cheyenne the issued a warrant for Albert's arrest.

An investigation then tracked Albert to a home in the Rock Springs area, where he was arrested by Sheriff's Department deputies and detectives on Thursday morning.

Albert was last reported to be in the Sweetwater County jail, where he is waiting to be taken to federal court. He could receive another 4 years in prison on his latest charges.
