A two vehicle crash on Thursday evening resulted in the death of 54 year old Kurt S. Cloward of Evanston, Wyoming. The crash happened at 7:45 p.m. on US 89 approximately 17 miles south of Afton, Wyoming.

Mr. Cloward’s sedan was apparently travelling south when he lost control on the snow and ice covered roadway. The car came to rest perpendicular on the highway. 35 year old Marion L. Dory of Grover, Wyoming was travelling north in a large SUV and failed to see Cloward in the road. The truck collided with the driver's side door of the car .

Mr. Cloward was pronounced dead at the scene. Two other separate crashes ensued from this one resulting in the closure of that area of the highway for two and one-half hours. Traffic was shuttled through the area when possible.

Blowing snow and slick roads are being investigated as contributing factors in this crash. Both Cloward and Dory were wearing their seat belts.
