Driver of Car That Hit Wyoming Medical Center Has Been Charged [PHOTOS]

The young woman who was driving the car that slammed into the Wyoming Medical Center, killing two passengers, has been released from the hospital, and arrested.

Seventeen-year-old Jessica Carnline has been charged with two counts of aggravated vehicular homicide.

The arrest affidavit says Carnline admits she and her two passengers, Brandon Avery and Amanda Strickland, were inhaling a can of air duster, used for cleaning computer equipment.

She admitted to police the air duster made her high.

The car she was driving was determined to be going 76 miles an hour down Second Street, when it swerved and hit a monument sign at the corner of the hospital building, back in September.

There was no indication that the brakes were applied and no one was wearing a seat belt.

Both passengers were roughly ten years older than the 17-year-old driver.

Avery was dead at the scene, and Strickland died a little later in the emergency room.

Police initially did not know that Carnline, had been released from the hospital.

They found out when a man, Elisha Simpson, was stopped by officers and found to have methamphetamine in his pocket.

She was in the car with him.

In addition, Carnline was on probation on a charge of M.I.P.

She will be charged as an adult in the fatal hospital accident, and could face a maximum of 20 years in prison on each count.

Jessica Carnline is being held on $30,000 bond.
