The Laramie Chamber Business Alliance recently named civil engineering firm DOWL the March Business of the Month.

Senior project manager Roger Strube says DOWL has been in Laramie since 2006 and merged with his company Aspen-Banner Engineering -- formerly known as Banner Associates -- in 2012.

Strube and senior project manager Lynn Hill both graduated from the University of Wyoming.

DOWL is a large engineering company based in Anchorage, Alaska. The Laramie office employs 11 people. Four engineers – all UW graduates, including one in training -- work alongside Strube and Hill.

DOWL as a whole operates 25 offices and employs roughly 500 people. Strube says DOWL has Wyoming offices in Laramie, Gillette, Lander and Sheridan.

“DOWL is currently the owner’s representative for the new Laramie High School,” says Strube. “We are also the owner’s representative for the design of the new Slade Elementary School and the abatement and demolition of the old Laramie High School.”

Strube says DOWL of Laramie is also the project manager, project engineer and owner’s representative for major maintenance projects of Albany County School District No. 1.

The Laramie Chamber Business Alliance says DOWL is giving engineering students a chance to gain experience in their field through internships in the DOWL testing lab. Those interested can call DOWL’s Laramie office at 742-3816.
