Deti Stadium Serves as Reunion Celebration Site [VIDEO]
A big celebration surrounding the final season of Deti Stadium at its' present location will be held Friday night before the Homecoming football game.
This gives former Plainsmen players and coaches a chance to have one last moment on the hallowed grounds of the stadium that's been home to Laramie High School football over 54 seasons.
The project started months ago with planning and invites going out via email and social media. Over 100 alumni players and coaches will be taking part in the festivities.
It begins with a tailgate party at 4:30 p.m. This gives the former players and coaches a chance to share stories about the legendary facility that has done more than just serve LHS football over the decades.
One of the event organizers, Michelle Worden, joined host David Settle during 'Laramie Live on KOWB' Thursday to discuss the celebration. In addition to the tailgate, there will be a reading of former players and coaches names by decade. It's a celebration the whole community can take part in.
The stadium will stay even after the school moves to its new location on the east-side of town.
The Homecoming football game against Evanston will start at 7 p.m. Friday.
